Hundreds of people turned up to help clean this polluted river that’s never been cleaned before.

Environmentalist Artem Prihodko, 31, from Kharhov, Ukraine, organised hundreds of people to help clean out the filthy Udy River.

Over four hundred volunteers took part across 15 Saturdays, in shifts of roughly 70 people at a time.

The river contained all sorts of litter and items that had been tossed away into the water which were killing off the living organisms and creatures beneath the surface.
