Russia’s War Moves East, New General Appointed l Why Victory By May 9 Is Crucial For Putin

Every year V-Day or Victory Day is celebrated with great pomp and fervor across Russia. The Russian army displays its most sophisticated weapons at Moscow’s Red Square. This year’s celebration will be closely watched because of the ongoing military operations in Ukraine.
According to some estimates, over 10,000 Russian soldiers have been killed and hundrends of military equipment has been destroyed in Ukraine. The Russian attempts to capture Ukrainian capital have also failed.
The Russian President, Vladimir Putin, has now given his top commanders four weeks’ time to declare some kind of military victory. And Putin is desperate to claim some form of military victory by May 9.
