Rep. Adam Schiff: J6 report will show, "sufficient evidence to criminally charge Trump."

Representative Adam Schiff is not only a member of the January 6 House select committee that investigated the insurrection, but he is also a former federal prosecutor. As reported by the Guardian, Schiff said on CNN's State of the Union that the committee's investigation establishes that there is "sufficient evidence to criminally indict Trump over efforts to overturn the election."

Officials at the Department of Justice repeatedly have assured the American people that federal prosecutors will follow the facts and follow the law wherever they lead, and promised to hold accountable everyone who committed crimes, whether they were present at the US Capitol on January 6 or not. Once we see the facts in the committee's report proving that Trump committed crimes, and once we see the law that, when applied to those facts, demand a criminal prosecution, it will be time for the DOJ to make good on its promise to the American people by indicting Donald Trump. Because justice matters.
