Pwani University lecturers strike over issues regarding their payments.

On this day 18 Oct, 2021 Pwani University woke up to picketings from a section of some lecturers who were demanding a diagonal payment method that the management had failed to implement despite it being implemented across other universities i.e: Chuka, JOOUST among others. There were other issues aired out one of them being failed promotions of some lectures as stipulated in the labour laws. The striking lectures pleaded with their fellow lectures to boycott classes until the management acted, they added that they were willing and very ready to go back to classes immediately their demands were met. It is still unclear for how long teaching and learning activities will be at a standstill with the lecturers agreeing to again proceed tomorrow.
